Poconos Ski House Rental — 5 Bedrooms, 3 Minutes from Big Boulder
If your group is skiing Big Boulder or Jack Frost, this is as close as a full house gets: 3 minutes to Big Boulder (its slopes are visible from our front deck), 5 minutes to Jack Frost, and sleeps 14 with a hot tub and sauna waiting at the end of the day.
Two mountains, one lift ticket, one driveway
Big Boulder and Jack Frost operate as one resort on a shared ticket (both are Epic Pass mountains). The strategy our guests settle into: park-and-night-session laps at Big Boulder, full cruising days at Jack Frost, lunch back at the chalet in between — it’s that close. Our honest local comparison of the two mountains breaks down terrain, crowds and parking quirks.
- Big Boulder — 3 min: terrain parks, night skiing on select dates, first-timer-friendly lower slopes
- Jack Frost — 5 min: 600 ft vertical, wide family cruisers, quieter after 2 PM
- Snow tubing: a short drive away — see our mountain guide for current options
- Camelback — ~30 min: a third option for variety days
Après-ski no hotel can match
The evening is why groups rebook this house. Boots off, then straight to the backyard: the 6-person hot tub steams under the string lights, the 8-person cedar sauna glows, and the sauna-to-snow dash becomes your group’s new tradition. Inside, the speakeasy billiard room — 8-foot pool table, arcade, wet bar — runs until quiet hours.
Built for ski groups
- Sleeps 14 across 5 bedrooms + loft — two or three families, one roof, full amenity list here
- Gear logistics: driveway parking for multiple cars with roof boxes, entry space for boots, washer/dryer for bibs
- Feed the team: full kitchen, dining for 8 plus island seating, and two grills (yes, we grill in January)
- Snow-day backup: 8 smart TVs, 1 GB WiFi, pool table, arcade, board-game closet
The per-person math
Fourteen people in a ski-town hotel means five to seven rooms. Here it means one house, one kitchen and one fire pit — and because you book directly with the owners, no service fee is stacked on top. Split the total by 14 and it routinely beats two hotel rooms, let alone seven.

Ski Season FAQ
How far is the chalet from Big Boulder?
Three minutes by car — about 1.5 miles. You can see Big Boulder’s lit slopes from the front deck. Jack Frost is a 5-minute drive, and one lift ticket covers both mountains.
Does the house work for two families skiing together?
That is its sweet spot: 5 bedrooms and 7 beds sleep up to 14, every bedroom has its own 65-inch TV, and the speakeasy game room keeps kids and adults happily separated in the evening.
Is there somewhere to dry ski gear?
Yes — a laundry room with washer/dryer plus entry space for boots and bibs. The gravel driveway fits several vehicles including roof boxes.
Is the hot tub really usable in January?
It is the whole point of January. The 6-person hot tub runs year-round, and the 8-person cedar sauna next to it makes the classic sauna-then-snow round trip irresistible.
When should we book for ski season?
Holiday weeks (Christmas–New Year, MLK, Presidents’ Day) go first — by late fall they are usually gone. January and February weekends follow. Weekdays stay open longest and ski far quieter.
