Booking & Arrival

What are check-in and checkout times?

Check-in is after 3:00 PM and checkout is before 11:00 AM. Self check-in with a smart keypad means you can arrive as late as you like — no key handoffs, ever.

Is booking directly with you safe?

Yes. You book with the actual owners — Doug, Nicholas and Kellie — who have hosted for 7 years with a 4.93-star average across 790 guest reviews. You get a written confirmation, a clear cancellation policy, and a direct line to us that we answer within the hour. No payment is taken until we confirm your dates.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel 5 or more days before check-in for a full refund. Within 5 days of check-in, the first night is non-refundable and remaining nights are refunded at 50%. The full policy is on our policies page.

Is there a minimum age to book?

The person making the booking must be at least 25 years old. This does not apply to the other guests in your group.

How many guests can stay?

Up to 14 guests across 5 bedrooms and 7 beds, plus a loft sleeping area. The house has 2.5 bathrooms.

How much parking is there?

The wide gravel driveway comfortably fits several vehicles — plenty for a group arriving in multiple cars, including trucks with ski boxes.

Pets

Are dogs allowed?

Yes — dogs are genuinely welcome, not just tolerated. The quarter-acre backyard is fully fenced, one of the only fenced yards in Lake Harmony Estates, so your dog can be off-leash safely. Just mention your dogs in the booking request so we know who’s coming.

What should we bring for our dog?

Their food, bed, leash and clean-up bags. Please keep dogs off the furniture, clean up after them in the yard, and never leave them alone in the house uncrated — full details are on the pet-friendly page.

Hot Tub, Sauna & Backyard

Is the hot tub open in winter?

Yes — the 6-person hot tub runs year-round and winter is honestly the best time to use it. It is cleaned and checked between stays. One tip: bring a few extra towels for hot tub runs.

How does the sauna work?

The backyard cedar sauna seats 8 and runs in wet or dry mode, with RGB mood lighting. Simple posted instructions walk you through firing it up.

Can we use the fire pit and grills?

Absolutely. The stone fire pit has 10 Adirondack chairs around it, and there are two grills — an enormous Viking in the gazebo and a second grill on the upper deck.

The House

How fast is the WiFi?

1 GB internet with strong coverage through the house — fast enough for a full house of streamers plus a remote-work day. Every bedroom also has its own 65-inch smart TV (8 TVs total).

What is provided?

Bed linens for every bed, shampoo, conditioner, body soap and a hair dryer, a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and the game room with pool table, arcade and board games. Please pack your own towels — including a few for the hot tub.

Are there quiet hours?

Yes — 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Enjoy the fire pit and hot tub late, just keep the volume neighborly. The house is not available for parties or events.

Is smoking allowed?

No — the property is entirely smoke-free, inside and out.

Are there security cameras?

Exterior cameras exist for security while the house is vacant only. They are switched off during your stay and do not record — your privacy is absolute.

The Area

Can you swim in Lake Harmony?

Yes — Lake Harmony Estates guests can use the community beach on the lake, a short walk from the chalet. It is a private lake with no public boat launch, lovely for swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding in summer.

How far is skiing?

Big Boulder is a 3-minute drive (you can see its slopes from the front deck) and Jack Frost is 5 minutes. One lift ticket covers both mountains.

How far is the chalet from New York City and Philadelphia?

About 2 hours from NYC via I-80 West, and about 1.5 hours from Philadelphia via the Northeast Extension. Kalahari is 25 minutes, Pocono Raceway 10, and Jim Thorpe 20.

What is there to do nearby?

Skiing, snow tubing, the lake beach, Kalahari waterpark, whitewater rafting, Hickory Run State Park and Boulder Field, Pocono Raceway, and historic Jim Thorpe — our things-to-do guide covers all of it with drive times.
